ACTOR, SINGER, DANCER AND SEEKER OF EMPLOYMENT

Having been taught Shakespeare in primary school by a woman who thought that Macbeth and King Lear were appropriate for 10 year olds, I have always sought to learn more about theatre; its history and its practice. I have since trained in Musical Theatre, Classical Singing, Contemporary Dance, Comedia Dell'Arte, Opera, Acrobalance and Stiltwalking because there is always something else to learn.

After school I did a brief stint at college before running away to join the Opera! Admittedly, I had already spent a number of years training as a member of the Scottish Opera Youth Company so I was very grateful when I was offered a role in a touring production of a new Opera titled 'Elephant Angel' by Gareth Williams and Bernard MacLaverty. It was an incredible opportunity that took me across Northern Ireland and back around Scotland and left me with the knowledge that this was what I wanted to spend my life doing.

Following up on my new found determination, I went and got my BA(Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance Performance from the University of Cumbria; as well as a working knowledge of sound, lighting, set building, teamwork during times of adversity and some passable English accents. Armed with my new Degree and a healthy level of cynicism I returned to Scotland to make the best of any opportunity that came my way.

Alongside my Theatre work, I regularly do Roleplay work with InterAct, run a few different workshops across Scotland and performs in a variety of Tribute Bands.
